USCIS Filing fees will be raised substantially effective October 2, 2020. Be sure to file before this deadline to save costs. Naturalization applications will increase by more than 80 percent (costing upwards of $1100) and asylum applications will be charged a $50 filing fee for Form I-589., with limited exceptions. Separate filing fees will be required for Forms I-765 and I-131 when filed concurrently with Form I-485 or while it is pending with USCIS. Individuals who wish to work or travel while their adjustment applications are pending will now have to pay an additional $550 to file form I-765 and $590 to file Form I-131. Children’s reduced filing fee for Form I-485 will also be eliminated and they will need to pay the full fee of $1,130. Revised forms will have to be used after the rule’s effective date.
